• README now has a "Files outside your vault" section that discloses every file the plugin reads or writes outside the vault and why, as required by the developer policies.

• Syncs Kobo highlights into your vault from the ribbon or the Sync highlights command, with a report of what was added.
• Never rewrites a note: new books become new notes, new highlights are appended, and existing frontmatter is left alone.
• Recognises imported highlights by a hidden %%kobo:<id>%% marker, so edited, moved or renamed notes do not get duplicates.
• Highlights appear in reading order under chapter headings, with a percentage position.
• Reads a copy of the Kobo database, refuses to sync with unsaved device changes, and keeps the 10 most recent database backups.
• Configurable output folder and protected folders; Chinese and English interface.

Limitations: default paths are for macOS, and highlights with attached notes may not be imported yet. See the README roadmap.
