OpenReply — desktop (beta)

Open-source social-marketing reply & content co-pilot.

OpenReply listens across 20+ sources — Reddit, Hacker News, X, Mastodon, Bluesky, Dev.to, Stack Overflow, Product Hunt, GitHub, YouTube, App Store, Play Store, Trustpilot, and more — surfaces the conversations worth joining, and drafts on-brand replies & content with your own AI agents. Bring-your-own-LLM across 8 providers, or run fully local with Ollama.

It also ships an MCP server (120 tools) so you can drive the whole corpus and drafting flow from Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, Cline, or Windsurf.

macOS Apple-silicon (arm64) beta. No account or activation key needed. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple — it just opens.

⬇️ Download v0.1.23 — free, no sign-up

Download the DMG — 275 MB macOS 12+, Apple Silicon
Download the ZIP — 239 MB recommended on macOS 26 / Tahoe

Or browse all releases.

Download + install

Grab the latest build from the Releases page.

macOS (Apple Silicon)

Using the DMG:

  1. Download OpenReply_0.1.23_arm64.dmg
  2. Double-click → drag OpenReply.app onto the Applications shortcut
  3. Double-click OpenReply in Applications — it launches straight away

Using the ZIP (recommended on macOS 26 / Tahoe):

  1. Download OpenReply_0.1.23_arm64.zip
  2. Double-click — Archive Utility extracts OpenReply.app
  3. Drag OpenReply.app into /Applications and open it

No right-click → Open, no "Apple cannot verify" warning. The app is notarized, so Gatekeeper accepts it on first launch.

Intel Macs, Windows, and Linux builds are coming — for now this beta is Apple-silicon only.

What you can do

  • Find opportunities — pull conversations from 20+ sources on a topic, product, or competitor, ranked by how worth-replying they are
  • Agents & personas — create AI agents with your brand voice and let them draft replies & original posts
  • Competitor intelligence — discover and follow competitors, extract their lessons and the gaps they leave open
  • Brain — an interactive knowledge graph connecting pains, sources, and opportunities
  • Connections — one-click access to keyless public sources (App Store, Play Store, Trustpilot, Steam, Lemmy, Stack Overflow, GitHub, Threads) plus keyed ones (X, Instagram, TikTok) when you add a key
  • MCP — wire OpenReply into your AI coding client and run the whole research + drafting pipeline from inside any conversation

Optional setups

  • LLM key (Settings → API keys): Anthropic / OpenAI / Groq / DeepSeek / Mistral / Google / OpenRouter / NVIDIA — or local Ollama (free)
  • CLI (Settings → Command line tool): installs openreply for scripting and headless pipelines
  • MCP server: point Claude Code / Cursor / Claude Desktop at OpenReply and use all 120 tools

Privacy

Everything runs locally. Your collected data, drafts, and API keys live in a single SQLite store on your Mac (~/Library/Application Support/com.shantanu.openreply/). No account, no telemetry, no cloud — LLM calls go directly from your machine to whichever provider's key you configure.
