MySQL Rockstars and Oracle ACEs
A MySQL Rockstar award is a recognition given by the MySQL Community Team at Oracle to some members of the MySQL community who have contributed to the promotion of MySQL throughout the past year. Awards are usually announced and handed out to the selected recipients once or twice a year, typically adjacent to some conference or other MySQL event.
The MySQL Legend title is awarded to remarkable members of the MySQL community who have made a significant and positive impact on the adoption, development and evolution of MySQL, over a long period of time. (years or decades).
Note that "contributions" in this context is not restricted to contributing source code, but often will involve educational activity and advocacy, such as blogging, speaking at tech conferences...
The Rockstar title is awarded only once and is acquired forever.
Anyone can nominate new Rockstars. Please send nominations by email to Henrik.Ingo@Oracle.Com. Include a short summary of reasons why you want to nominate this person as a Rockstar, or even Legend. The final selections are made by the MySQL Community team at Oracle.

The Oracle ACE program exists to nurture and reward members of the Oracle community that contribute their time and knowledge to the benefit of their peers and ultimately benefiting also the Oracle product(s) that they are experts on. This program has 4 levels from Apprentice to Director, where the last level is described as "experts and thought leaders in their areas of focus". Ace Directors and Ace Pro members receive significant perks and attention from Oracle, including conference passes, travel costs, and cloud credits.
Notably, the ACE program also acknowledges contributions to open source projects when reviewing nomination. This is of course relevant to MySQL.
Nominations for the ACE program could be particularly relevant for persons who are experts and thought leaders in multiple products or communities relevant to Oracle - one of which could be MySQL. If you have such a person in mind, you can nominate people for consideration to the ACE program from the program homepage. Select MySQL as the category when nominating someone from the MySQL community.
Ace Pro and Ace Director members are automatically included in the exclusive briefings and events that we organize as part of the MySQL Rockstar program.
