EVE Quartermaster Update: Host Tools, Backups & Multibuy Export

This update introduces a new Host account role for installation owners, complete database-management tools, and a faster way to move shopping lists into EVE Online.

New Features

  • Export the EQM database as a portable .eqmbackup file
  • Restore a compatible database backup
  • View database size, table count, and schema version
  • Clear application data when a genuinely fresh start is required
  • Existing primary administrators are automatically promoted to Host
  • Database controls are visible and accessible only to Host accounts
  • Copy shopping lists directly to the clipboard in EVE Online Multibuy format
  • Export either missing items only or the complete shopping list, regardless of current asset coverage

Shopping-list exports use EVE’s simple item-and-quantity format:

Heavy Beam Laser II 5
Valkyrie II 5
Warrior II 10

Paste the result directly into EVE’s Multibuy window without removing prices, categories, or other formatting first.

Safety Measures

Database restoration verifies the backup format and schema version before proceeding and performs restoration transactionally. Database clearing requires both the Host password and an exact confirmation phrase.

The danger zone clearly identifies that clearing the database is irreversible. It removes synced ESI data, assets, industry history, analytics, notes, and other application records while retaining the current Host account and database structure.

Backups may contain private application data, encrypted ESI tokens, and account password hashes. Treat exported backup files as sensitive.

Additional Fixes

  • Added PostgreSQL client compatibility handling for reliable restores
  • Prevented internal migration metadata from conflicting during restoration
  • Protected the final Host account from deletion or demotion
  • Updated permissions throughout EQM to recognize the new Host role
  • Improved shopping-list exports for both procurement and full-fit purchasing

The complete backup, clear, and restore process was tested through an isolated database rehearsal before release.
