Release list
NeonPocketMC RC52 v1.1.0 RC3
NeonPocketMC-RC52 1.1 RC3
Experimental RC52 BLE companion release with a universal triple-press Home shortcut.
Included files
NeonPocketMC-RC52-1.1-RC3.uf2— normal application-only install through the RC52 UF2 bootloader.NeonPocketMC-RC52-1.1-RC3.hex— application image for advanced recovery/debug use.SHA256SUMS.txt— hashes for every attached payload.NeonPocketMC-RC52-1.1-RC3-source-and-licenses.zip— exact source and retained license notices.
Do not erase or replace the RC52 SoftDevice or bootloader. Do not flash these files to RCC6, RC32, or an RC52 with different display/radio hardware.
Change since RC2
- Triple press returns directly to Home from any page.
- Triple press while reading Inbox clears every local unread message, then returns Home.
- A wake-only gesture remains consumed while the display is off.
Qualification boundary
The functional firmware code at exact commit 120c4292d71b60790ef69c507c3053caf3481dc4 passed the RC52 exact-target build, UF2 checks, and T114 nRF52 regression in GitHub Actions run 31579818303. The application-only candidate was also flashed and booted on the connected RC52 qualification unit. The release documentation commit changes no firmware inputs.
NeonPocketMC-RC52 v1.1.0 RC2
NeonPocketMC-RC52 1.1 RC2
Experimental application-only BLE companion firmware for the Heltec RadioCore RC52-L62 with the vendor 220×128 NV3001B TFT.
RX-gain hotfix
- Backports the exact six-file fix from upstream MeshCore PR #3158 / commit
6f491f30332226a57291cce6c7c3864e931b374d. - Preserves the configured boosted-RX-gain setting after RadioLib radio resets instead of reverting to the compiled default.
- Includes no unrelated MeshCore
devchanges. Upstream has not published an official 1.17.1 tag; this is MeshCore 1.17.0 plus that exact fix.
Exact product source: d239068185f52dcf1f79a63540d510fb8dfa525c. The exact-main RC52 companion, UF2 verification, upstream unit tests, and T114 regression build passed in Actions run 31434950297.
Use NeonPocketMC-RC52-1.1-RC2.uf2 for the normal application-only UF2 install at 0x26000. Never erase or replace the SoftDevice or bootloader, and never flash this image to RCC6, RC32, or different RC52 hardware.
This hotfix build is CI-qualified but was not re-flashed during this release pass. It remains a prerelease.
NeonPocketMC-RC52 v1.1.0 RC1
NeonPocketMC-RC52 1.1 RC1
Experimental application-only BLE companion firmware for the Heltec RadioCore RC52-L62 with the vendor 220×128 NV3001B TFT.
New in this candidate
- Animated NeonPocketMC startup mark and progress sequence.
- Canonical NeonPocketMC repository branding.
- Exact MeshCore 1.17 RC52 build with UF2 family/address verification and nRF52 regression build.
Use NeonPocketMC-RC52-1.1-RC1.uf2 for the normal UF2 bootloader install. Never erase or replace the SoftDevice or bootloader, and never flash this image to RCC6, RC32, or different RC52 hardware.
The RC52 hardware port was physically accepted in 1.0 RC1; this startup/branding update is CI-qualified but was not re-flashed because the RC52 unit was not connected. This remains a prerelease.
NeonPocketMC-RC52 1.0 RC1
NeonPocketMC-RC52 v1.0.0-rc.1
The first experimental NeonPocketMC release for the Heltec RadioCore RC52-L62 with the vendor 220 x 128 NV3001B TFT.
RC52 only—do not flash RCC6, RC32, or RC52 variants with different display/radio hardware.
Included
- MeshCore 1.17 BLE companion firmware
- Native dark 220 x 128 NeonPocket dashboard and inbox
- Home, Inbox, Nearby, Radio, Bluetooth, Advert, and Power pages
- Local direct and channel unread tracking
- 60-second TFT timeout while BLE and LoRa remain active
- Application-only UF2 that preserves the RC52 bootloader and SoftDevice
Provenance
- Firmware source:
14b949436d3e9c6200c3384d1963ec39fe2c637d - GitHub Actions run: https://github.com/n30nex/NeonPocketMC-RC52/actions/runs/31321748756
- The attached UF2 is byte-for-byte the firmware run on the qualification unit.
The owner confirmed the TFT UI, button behavior, BLE companion operation, and LoRa operation and authorized this RC1 release. Extended endurance testing and physical battery-ADC calibration are deferred.
Flashing
- Attach a suitable 868/915 MHz antenna.
- Download the RC1
.uf2andSHA256SUMSassets. - Verify the UF2 checksum.
- Enter the RC52 UF2 bootloader and confirm the mounted volume identifies an RC52/nRF52840.
- Copy only the application
.uf2to the UF2 volume.
Do not erase flash or replace the bootloader or SoftDevice. See the attached FLASHING.md for the complete procedure.
Known limitations
- Experimental RC1; report issues with the exact asset filename and RC52 hardware revision.
- Battery ADC multiplier remains provisional.
- Low battery produces a warning only; there is no automatic low-voltage shutdown.
- This image supports BLE companion mode only; Web/AP, USB companion, and headless modes are intentionally excluded.
