The workflow editor does not show an option to activate workflows. Only “Publish” and “Saved” buttons are visible, so workflows cannot be activated or executed.

Note that n8n has introduced workflow versioning with v2, which replaced the activation switch with Publish button. Publishing your workflow activates it and locks it into a specific version. To deactivate, simply unpublish your workflow from the dropdown menu(workflow settings).
