What's New

Cross-platform desktop releases

• Added an official branded Windows x64 installer and a Debian/Ubuntu amd64 package.
• Published both platforms through one governed release manifest only after both native builds passed.
• Added automatic OS-aware download recommendations while keeping every artifact available under Other downloads.

Safe background updates

• Added a staged updater that detects a newer release, downloads it without interrupting analysis, verifies its SHA-256 checksum, and waits for an explicit Update & Restart action.
• Added restart-safe staging, duplicate-download coalescing, partial-file rejection, tamper detection, and same-version checksum protection.
• Added update progress, retry, release-note, and ready-to-install states in Notifications and Settings.

Desktop workflow improvements

• Fixed newly saved local-file history so complete sources survive app restarts without asking users to reselect the original file.
• Fixed complete 1,500-row Advanced-to-Easy round trips: recoverable pagination is no longer treated as irreversible truncation.
• Preserved edited database results when returning from Advanced Mode to Easy Mode.
• Improved Monaco SQL suggestions, durable local/online/database history, and chart subset drill-through.

Distribution, accounts, and licensing

• Added Google and verified email/password accounts, device slots, Pro-key redemption, password reset, and account controls directly in LightBI Settings.
• Added privacy-safe distribution and native-app signals without collecting imported files, SQL, schemas, results, BA findings, or raw IP addresses.
• Preserved direct activation for paid and Complimentary Pro licenses; partner discount codes remain checkout offers and never grant Pro by themselves.
• Fixed canonical verification and OAuth callback URLs.

Reliability and presentation

• Kept the animated WHAT / WHERE / WHAT NEXT evidence flow active on Windows while respecting reduced-motion settings.
• Added a full-width in-page release panel for alternate downloads.
• Enforced the yellow/black LightBI icon in the Windows installer and validated it during CI.

Beta note

This is a public pre-release. Keep a copy of important project data and report reproducible issues through GitHub Issues. Business data remains local to the LightBI workspace.
