Locus 2.5.0
What’s new
- Persistent goals: Give a chat an objective and optional token or model-call limits. Solo agents and teams continue across turns, retain progress after reopening Locus, and stop for verified completion or required attention. Pause, Resume, Edit, and End remain beside the composer.
- Solo collaboration: Agents can delegate bounded work to helpers and bring their results and verification back to the conversation.
- Task Capsules: Save a plan with separate planning, implementation, and review models, exact account routing, and bounded repairs.
- Workspace Library and output versions: Keep documents and deliverables together, with local document search, saved snapshots, export, comparisons, and revision drafts.
- Private Identity tasks: Keep reusable personal and business details in an encrypted vault and review information before sharing.
- Resumable Getting Started examples and a contextual Agent inspector make work and recovery easier to follow.
Installing this release
Locus 2.5.0 is the first public wallet-free Locus edition. Download Locus-macOS.zip below and replace the existing Locus app. Existing chats, accounts, settings, and browser data stay in place. The optional wallet belongs to the separate LocusX edition.
This edition uses manual app updates. The earlier signed app update feed is preserved for older installations, so upgrading to Locus 2.5 is an explicit download. ChatGPT-plan component downloads continue to work.
Validation
The full backend suite passed (1,912 tests), alongside 580 native tests, 3 goal UI tests, 91 release and edition checks, and 3 corrected macOS dialog and capsule regression cases. Additional pull-request and release validation is recorded in pull request #72.
The Mac download is signed, notarized, stapled, and Gatekeeper-verified.
