v0.3.0
FrameMate v0.3.0
- Phone notifications in the headset: they show up as normal Steam notifications (took some inspiration from Decky Loader). Off by default, turn them on with the bell in the app's top bar. The app doesn't need to be open.
- Per-app switches: under Settings > Notifications, plus the bell to turn everything off quickly (e.g. when someone else is wearing the headset). Silent and ongoing notifications are skipped, and nothing gets stored.
- Notifications only show while you're wearing the headset, Steam doesn't show them while it's asleep.
- Sideloaded apps need "Allow restricted settings" first, see TROUBLESHOOTING.md.
- Fixes and Stability improvements
- Updating: run the install command on the Frame and install the new APK over the old app. No need to pair again.
curl -LsSf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nailuj05/framemate/main/scripts/install.sh | sh

v0.2.0
FrameMate v0.2.0
Breaking release: update both the agent and the app, then pair them once.
The app now talks to the Frame over TLS (port 7381). For the current read-only features that isn't strictly needed, but upcoming ones like screenshot sharing and phone notifications in the headset will send personal data both ways, and I'd rather add encryption now while the API is still small. There's no certificate authority involved: the agent creates its own key, and the app pins that key's fingerprint during pairing, so it only ever talks to your Frame. The old unencrypted port 7380 now only listens on the Frame itself, and the browser dashboard is gone.
Pairing works by QR code now. Run "flatpak run --user dev.framemate.Agent pair" on the Frame and scan it in the app's Settings.
Installing is a single command on the Frame:
curl -LsSf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nailuj05/framemate/main/scripts/install.sh | sh
Also new: the app no longer shows stale data after coming back from the background, mirroring pauses while the app is in the background, and the self check no longer prints the token, so it's safe to paste into issues.
Updating: run the install command on the Frame, install the new APK over the old app, then scan the pairing code.
