Data Usage Tracker 3.1.2
The Android app is now release-signed with a permanent key.
Added
- Release signing for the Android app.
android\local.propertiescan name a properties file (signing.properties=...) that points to a keystore outside the repo, andassembleReleasethen signs with it. Without that line a release build is unsigned, as before. With it, a missing file or an uneditedCHANGE_MEfails the build instead of signing with nothing. The README explains the setup.
Changed
- Android app 1.3 (
versionCode4).
Android app
data-usage-reporter-1.3.apk is Data Usage Reporter 1.3 (Android 8.0+), built from this release's android/ source and signed with the project's release key:
CN=Data Usage Tracker
SHA-256 ab:34:f0:77:4f:3d:c5:0b:7e:0d:e7:c0:04:7e:ee:ce:82:01:89:1a:a4:da:37:73:ca:b1:52:19:06:13:4f:a1
apksigner verify --print-certs data-usage-reporter-1.3.apk should print the same digest. Later releases are signed with this key too, so they install over this one as normal updates.
adb install -r data-usage-reporter-1.3.apk
If you installed the 1.2 APK from 3.1.1, uninstall it first. That build was debug-signed, and Android refuses to update an app signed with a different key. Nothing already uploaded to the dashboard is lost: its first sync after reinstalling re-sends the phone's history, and the dashboard stores the larger reading instead of counting it twice. After reinstalling, enter the address and token again and re-grant usage access.
