Khua Player 0.6.0 (build 10) for Apple silicon Macs.

This is the first GitHub release of the existing official 0.6.0 build. The DMG is identical to the download on khua.app.

What's new in 0.6.0

  • In-app update checks for the direct-download version.
  • Verification of signed update feeds and update packages before installation.

Install

Download Khua-0.6.0.dmg, open it, and drag Khua to Applications. The app and disk image are Developer ID signed, notarized, and stapled.

  • Apple silicon only; macOS 14 or later.
  • Motion+ requires macOS 26 and a supported Mac.
  • Subtitle generation and translation require macOS 26. Available languages depend on macOS, which may download language models on first use.

Website downloads and automatic updates continue to use the official Cloudflare-hosted release channel. The GitHub asset is an additional download of the same signed package.

Source and licenses

Tag v0.6.0 identifies public source commit 6e70bc342ca13a48fbe6960f2bed67d1022d0c8c.

Khua-0.6.0-source.tar.gz includes that source snapshot, the locked upstream dependency source archives, downstream FFmpeg patches, license texts, and rebuild instructions. GitHub's automatically generated source ZIP/TAR downloads contain only the repository snapshot, not those dependency source archives.

Khua's own source code uses MIT. Third-party components retain their own licenses, including LGPL for FFmpeg and FriBidi. See third-party notices and REBUILDING.md in the source archive.
