Khua Player 0.6.1 (build 11) for Apple silicon Macs.

What's new

  • Existing update checks now include a random installation identifier for
    deduplicated update-check activity and version statistics.
  • No additional requests, playback data collection, new settings, or permission
    dialogs. Automatic update checks remain enabled by default.
  • Updated the privacy policy and the in-app privacy summary in all 17 languages.

These statistics measure installations checking for updates, not people or
playback activity. See the privacy policy.

Install or update

Download Khua-0.6.1.dmg, open it, and drag Khua to Applications.
The app and disk image are Developer ID signed, notarized, and stapled.

Khua 0.6.0 can update through Khua → Check for Updates once the official
update channel offers this release. Older builds without update support need
one manual installation of the current DMG.

  • Apple silicon only; macOS 14 or later.
  • Motion+ requires macOS 26 and a supported Mac.
  • Subtitle generation and translation require macOS 26. Available languages
    depend on macOS, which may download language models on first use.

The GitHub DMG and the official Cloudflare-hosted download contain identical

Source and licenses

Tag v0.6.1 identifies public source commit

Khua-0.6.1-source.tar.gz includes that source snapshot, the locked upstream
dependency source archives, downstream FFmpeg patches, license texts, and
rebuild instructions. GitHub's automatically generated source ZIP/TAR downloads
contain only the repository snapshot, not those dependency source archives.

Khua's own source uses MIT. Third-party components retain their own licenses,
including LGPL for FFmpeg and FriBidi. See the
