Shalielie iOS v0.7.0 beta 1

The first public build of Shalielie (瞎咧咧), the iPhone app version of Photographic Style Port. It adds iPhone 16/17 Photographic Styles (and iOS 27 Texture & Grain) to photos from older iPhones, right on the phone.

Pre-release. Unsigned IPA for sideloading (Sideloadly, AltStore), which signs it with your own Apple ID. Keep originals.

What's in it

• Library, Albums, Backup Bin and Settings tabs. Add a style to photos in your library, saved as new photos or replacing the original (the original goes to the Backup Bin first and can be restored).
• Live Photos keep their motion. The app gives the video the style tracks and timed metadata Photos' editor needs on iOS 27, so a styled Live Photo opens in Edit with Style, Texture and Grain, and the video changes with the style.
• Import HEIC (and MOV) Files… from the Files app; a HEIC that already has a style is saved as is, with its video.
• Shortcuts action "Add Photographic Style".

Live Photo support is by @lzh20025 (#7): on-device video styling with VideoToolbox, the iOS 27 video template, and the import fix for styled photos without Texture & Grain. Thank you!

Tested

• iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 27.0: Live Photos from an iPhone 13 imported from Files; Photos' editor opens them, Style and Texture present, video restyled (@lzh20025).
• iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 27.0.1: still photos, save as new and replace.
• Not yet tested on a phone: picking a Live Photo in the library, Replace mode for Live Photos, the Shortcuts action on Live Photos, Texture added to iPhone 16/17 Live Photos.

Built from agent/swift-port at f2bd324. The command-line tool and desktop binaries are released separately as v0.7.0.

What's new

• 48 MP photos from older iPhones now work (8064×6048, e.g. iPhone 15 Pro at HEIF Max), with or without an encoder, in the command-line tool and on the web page. 48 MP photos from iPhone 16/17 already worked.
• Web page: clearer hints, a link to the command-line tool when a photo needs it, an "About this page" link, and the tip and options fold away once results show.

How to use

You need a Windows PC or Mac (Linux works too). The tool can't run on an iPhone.

1. Download the file for your computer from Assets below:

Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac → look at "Chip".

2. Get the original photos onto the computer as HEIC files, e.g. by AirDrop, or on a Mac in Photos with File → Export → Export Unmodified Original. Photos converted to JPEG won't work.

3. Run it

• Windows: unzip, then drag your HEIC photos (or a folder of them) onto photographic-style-port.exe. If Windows says it "protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. That happens because the tool isn't code-signed.
• Mac: double-click the .tar.gz to unpack it. Open Terminal and type cd (with a space). Drag the unpacked folder into the Terminal window and press Return. Then run this once, so macOS lets the tool run:

  xattr -d com.apple.quarantine photographic-style-port
  

  Type ./photographic-style-port (with a space), drag your photos into the Terminal window, and press Return.

Each photo gets a new copy next to the original: NAME_PhotographicStyle.HEIC, or NAME_TextureGrain.HEIC for iPhone 16/17 photos. Existing files are never overwritten.

4. Send the new file back to your iPhone as a file (AirDrop, or save it to Files), not by syncing it into your Photo Library. Syncing converts it to JPEG and removes everything the tool added. Open it in Photos and tap Edit to use Photographic Styles.

"No embedded thumbnail"? Copies re-saved by iOS often have no thumbnail, and creating one needs two free tools. On a Mac, install Homebrew, then run brew install ffmpeg libheif, and run the tool again. On Windows, follow Install from source. If you can, export the original photo again instead.
