Symbol Library v3 Overview

(rough draft in progress) Version 3 of the symbol library will constitute the largest overhaul of the system since Threespot delivered designs adapted from 51 HFC-created symbols in late 2014. We aim to:

• Develop a system that easily adapts to multiple uses (web and mobile)
• Improve the quality of symbols in our products; quality in this case means graphical consistency amongst all symbols in the library and optimal legibility on digital displays
• Reduce the amount of artwork to develop and maintain for each symbol
• Make use of/repurpose existing resources
• (How do discuss the handling of color? In other words, not using blue for emergency telephone and hospital, not using green for visitor center? Since we have to overlay these symbols over placemarkers.)
