Procure 2.0 — rebuilt as a native Windows app

Same app, same data, much faster. Procure has been rebuilt on Windows' own UI framework (WinUI 3) instead of the cross-platform layer it used before, which was the cause of the general sluggishness.

Your data and settings

  • Everything carries over: requisitions, RFQs, PCRs, POs, tasks, notes, settings, theme, and keyboard shortcuts.
  • Before the database is upgraded, a verified backup copy is saved next to it automatically.

Faster

  • Scrolling the PR Board is smooth (about 144 fps, up from about 25).
  • Around a third less memory, and roughly half the CPU while scrolling.
  • Opening tabs and dialogs is quicker; the PR Board and Tasks load in the background while you're on the Dashboard.

New and improved

  • Requested For is its own field on a PR (Add PR / Edit PR) and prints on the Price Comparison Sheet.
  • Price Comparison Sheet: include as many suppliers as you need; above 5 they are fitted across the page automatically, with a warning if the text would print too small. Sharper preview when zoomed, crisper printing, and the preview can be panned with the mouse wheel.
  • Keyboard shortcuts work everywhere (Ctrl+1–5 to switch pages, Ctrl+N, Ctrl+F, F5, Ctrl+S in dialogs, and more) and can be changed in Settings.
  • Money boxes accept "5%" as a discount, "AED 1,200" or "$50" as amounts, and a column of prices pasted from Excel.
  • Clearer Urgent / Normal colours in light mode, a Light / Dark switch in the sidebar, and a tidier Settings page.

Updating

  • This first update is larger than usual because it's a new app. Give it a minute.
  • Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" — click More info → Run anyway.
  • If Procure reopens on the old version, restart it once more.
