Overview

This is the first public release of Particle-Resolved Eulerian Lagrangian Interaction Module for Particulate Flows (PRELIMPFlow). The code couples the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) with the Discrete Element Method (DEM) to solve particle-fluid and particle-particle interactions. Code has been written in the IBAMR (https://ibamr.github.io/) framework.

Functionalities

  • Supports Fluid-Particle, Particle-Particle and Particle-Wall interactions with rolling resistance.
  • Supports both dry granular flows and suspension flows
  • Complex flow paths can be achieved by creating Lagrangian markers.
  • Maintains IBAMR's input file structure for physical and numerical parameters

Limitations

  • Particle and wall material properties are assumed to be same.
