Kinetyl 0.3.1

@nazeeh111 nazeeh111 released this 23 Oct 01:33

Kinetyl 0.3.1 packages the two studio presentation improvements already on main into the downloadable wheel and portable studio ZIP.

  • The default studio opens with the independently verified 3.00 s collision comparison: the same curved paths and event time before and after compilation. Imported plans use their own verified geometry and collision proof.
  • Changing canvas now reports the current compilation state consistently.
  • When served over localhost, the portable ZIP's studio loads the same checked-in default plan as the hosted studio. The 0.3.0 ZIP instead held an edited authoring demonstration with one Bézier control at y=3/2; the 0.3.1 default retains y=2. Both plans are independently verifiable.
  • Compiler, verifier, schemas, measured examples, and optional ManimGX adapter are unchanged from 0.3.0. This release makes no new native-video or performance claim.

Validation of v0.3.1 on macOS/Python 3.14: 45 Python tests and 65 JavaScript tests passed; the installed wheel completed compile, independent verify, export, hash, and refusal journeys. Hosted CI also passed on Ubuntu/Python 3.11, Ubuntu/Python 3.14, and macOS/Python 3.14. The wheel's embedded studio assets match the hosted-source files byte for byte. The new ZIP has the same file list as the 0.3.0 ZIP, passed its archive integrity check, and its manifest covers the exported files.

Python 3.11+ is required. Core compile, verify, and studio export have no runtime dependencies. Native rendering remains an optional separately installed ManimGX 0.1.1 integration. SHA256SUMS covers the wheel, source archive, and studio ZIP; it is an unsigned checksum file.

Kinetyl 0.3.0 · exact path authoring

Kinetyl now lets you deliberately author motion paths in the browser, then compile and verify the resulting label layout.

  • Select endpoints and Bézier controls in a stable world view. Enter exact fractions or use the disclosed 1/20-unit pointer and keyboard grid.
  • Cancel, undo and redo exact edits. Pending JSON and coordinate fields require explicit resolution. Dirty or failed drafts cannot export a stale compiled plan.
  • Save an explicitly unverified source draft, or download and reopen a verified plan. Authoring ships in the dependency-free wheel, source distribution, public studio and portable export.

Validation: 35 focused authoring/studio tests passed, with independent review and verified fixes for two state bugs. A real browser journey edited the bundled arch's first control to y=3/2, compiled wide and portrait plans, downloaded/reopened the actual plan, and exercised pointer cancellation, keyboard input, invalid drafts and 390px layout. A fresh installed CLI independently verified both downloaded plans and exported matching portable assets. CI covers the supported Python/OS matrix.

The frozen two-track, three-segment task remained inconclusive at the unchanged 250000-work budget. It was not tuned or retried at higher limits. The supported arch is an owned example, not external user validation. Geometry, schemas and the native renderer adapter are unchanged; no new native-video or performance claim is made.

Install the wheel with Python 3.11+; the compiler and browser studio have no runtime dependencies. Optional native rendering still requires the separately installed, pinned ManimGX renderer. For the ZIP, extract to a fresh directory and serve it over localhost; open index.html through that server. SHA256SUMS covers all three assets.

Kinetyl 0.2.0: keep the curve, fix the labels

Kinetyl 0.2 keeps explicit cubic Bézier motion intact while compiling label placement and camera framing for the whole trajectory. Edit curve controls in the portable studio, switch wide/portrait output, and export a verified plan or native ManimGX video without replacing the curves with straight keyframe segments.

  • Version 2 adds explicit rational curve controls, continuous collision and viewport checks, actual rational conflict times, and bounded inconclusive outcomes.
  • Python and browser plans agree. Existing version 1 scenes and retained plan identities remain supported.
  • The complete curved-crossing example includes editable source, a retained generator, actual wide/portrait MP4s and frame receipts. The compiler and portable studio have no runtime dependencies or cloud upload.

Validation: 45 Python tests, 46 Node tests, isolated installed-wheel journeys, fresh independent review, and 145 native ID/normal frames per aspect at 24 fps. CI passed on Linux with Python 3.11/3.14 and macOS with Python 3.14.

Scope: 1–8 markers, fixed axis-aligned label envelopes, explicit cubic segments with linear segment time, twelve constant offsets and a finite static camera-scale list. General/CSS/composed easing, 3D and continuous raster-pixel guarantees are outside this model. NoSolution concerns only the finite candidate family; work/arithmetic exhaustion is inconclusive. No outside adoption or competitor superiority is claimed.

Install the wheel below with python -m pip install /path/to/kinetyl-0.2.0-py3-none-any.whl, then run kinetyl example curved-crossing --out curves.

Kinetyl compiles label placement and camera framing across complete supported motion paths while preserving source coordinates, timing and projected envelope sizes. Includes an editable browser studio, independent plan verification, bundled mathematical examples and optional native measurement/MP4 rendering.

Try the live studio, or install the attached dependency-free wheel and run kinetyl example eigenvalue-crossing --out examples. The portable ZIP includes the measured scene, verified plan and original studio code. Native wide/portrait MP4s and frame receipts are included in the source and public studio directory.

Validation: 36 Python tests, 34 Node groups, cold installed-wheel journey, fresh independent exact-geometry review, three passing Linux/macOS hosted jobs at the tested source tree, and 145 inspected native frames per pass/export. Both MP4s fully decode. Actual browser edits/refusals/recovery, portrait plan download parity, import and 360-pixel layout checked.

Guarantees concern fixed declared 2D envelopes, piecewise-linear motion and a static camera. Candidate exhaustion differs from an inconclusive work budget. Native pixel correspondence is sampled with four-pixel tolerance; receipts and measurements are unsigned. No continuous raster, arbitrary 3D, accessibility, comprehension or renderer-speedup claim. Original Kinetyl code developed with Codex assistance. Separately installed ManimGX and Noto licenses remain intact.
