PhotonRelay 0.1.3

Choose a tag to compare

@nazeeh111 nazeeh111 released this 27 Sep 04:58

A valid QR frame from a different transfer no longer discards partially recovered data. The receiver keeps the active transfer while its frames arrive; after 1.5 seconds without them, two distinct frames from another sender switch the receiver to that transfer.

The receiving guide now explains switching senders and describes the progress estimate accurately. Protocol encoding and file verification are unchanged.

Verification: 168 automated tests passed, including recovery with an interleaved foreign frame and replacement of a one-block transfer. TypeScript, served and standalone builds, and publication checks passed locally. Camera-to-screen hardware performance was not tested in this release.

Download PhotonRelay-sender.html and PhotonRelay-receiver.html for standalone use. Receiving requires browser camera permission. See the repository for offline-use instructions and AGPL-3.0-or-later notices.

PhotonRelay 0.1.2 — simple setup, uninterrupted transfers

@nazeeh111 nazeeh111 released this 23 Sep 19:46

Scan the setup QR with a normal phone camera to open PhotonRelay Receive, then tap Start camera in the browser. No app download is needed; the initial page load requires internet.

This release adds blue visual styling, clearer transfer steps, compact short-text frames, conservative default settings, receiver failure handling, and updates that wait instead of interrupting active transfers. Finish transfers, save received files, close all PhotonRelay tabs/app windows, then reopen to install a waiting update.

Verification: 165 tests passed, including actual WASM QR recovery for Unicode text, binary data, dropped/duplicate frames and resized QR images. Hosted and standalone builds passed. Physical two-device camera testing has not been performed in this verification run.

Download the branded standalone HTML files for desktop/offline use. On phones use the hosted HTTPS receiver; local HTML camera permissions vary. The source archive corresponds to this exact commit and retains required notices. SHA256SUMS covers the two standalone files and source archive.

PhotonRelay 0.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@nazeeh111 nazeeh111 released this 23 Sep 19:13

PhotonRelay 0.1.0 provides offline optical file/text transfer and an integrated reproducible channel laboratory.

  • Sender and receiver retain fountain-coded QR transfer, compression, SHA-256 checking, animation export and offline support.
  • The channel lab exercises the production encoder/decoder with seeded loss, duplicates and shuffled delivery, checks exact recovered bytes, and exports JSON evidence.
  • 146 automated tests pass; production and both standalone builds pass. Independent review verified unchanged core transfer modules and identified publication issues that were corrected.
  • Physical camera interoperability, optical speed, and mobile installation have not been independently measured for this release. The lab is a software simulation. Transfer is not encrypted.

Use the hosted app at https://nazeeh111.github.io/PhotonRelay/ or build the supplied corresponding source with Node24+. Standalone downloads are self-contained HTML; camera availability still depends on browser secure-context and permission rules. Legacy download filenames are retained so paired-file navigation continues to work.

AGPL-3.0-or-later and bundled third-party notices apply. The source archive contains the build plugins, public mode flags and vendor notices. SHA256SUMS.txt covers the downloaded files.
