What's new

  • Document thumbnails in the file shelf — files now show a real preview (first page of a PDF, the image itself, Pages/Keynote previews) instead of a generic type icon.
  • Hover preview — pause on a file and a card shows a larger thumbnail, its full name, its kind and its size.
  • Full name on hover — a tooltip spells out names the shelf has to truncate.

Automated release. Open the DMG and drag Cubby into Applications. Cubby is ad-hoc signed (not notarized): on first launch, open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (on macOS 14, right-click Cubby.app › Open). Requires macOS 14+.
