Clicker Genesis v0.4.5 Beta — Achievement screen shader/material fixes, Sound system, Auto-update (Windows desktop)
Windows-only this release — Mac and Android held back pending further testing (same as v0.4.4).
Highlights
- Achievement screen visual overhaul: cards now use real shader-driven material flair (G-spot Lab Magic Energy textures), color-coded by achievement category with a lighter variant once unlocked. Fixed several real rendering bugs along the way: cards bleeding outside the scroll viewport, broken/partial diamond frames, and hidden achievements showing raw description text instead of "Locked" in their progress bar.
- New gameplay achievement ladders (lifetime Ink earned/spent and other stat milestones).
- Real Sound & Audio System: mixer-driven Master/SFX/Music/Voice volume, music zones per screen, SFX hooks on verse/chapter/book/achievement unlocks. (No audio clips are wired in yet — infrastructure only, silent-but-functional.)
- Desktop auto-update system (Velopack): an opt-in "Check for Updates" / "Install" control on the Settings screen. Nothing downloads without an explicit click.
- Credits and Stats promoted from small Pause Menu popups to their own standalone, more readable screens.
- Removed unused legacy asset packs (old "Skill icon" set, a stray UI-pack sample scene) to trim project size.
Known limitations
- Auto-update has not yet been exercised through a real packaged install/update cycle — infrastructure is in place and compiles clean, but hasn't been click-tested end to end.
- No audio content (SFX/music clips) exists yet — the sound system is real and wired, just silent for now.
