unable to continue with anything in so far devices and device types. just upgraded from 4.1.1 > 4.5.0 > 4.6.9

before i upgraded to 4.6.9 i installed a ton of device types, if that helps any.

Sorry you’re running into trouble after the upgrade. Assuming you followed the upgrade guide, please make sure you have a working database backup before making any further changes.

Was there a particular reason for upgrading from v4.1.1 to v4.5.0 before moving to v4.6.9? Did everything work as expected while you were running v4.5.0?

As a first troubleshooting step, I’d temporarily disable all plugins and check whether the issue persists. If that resolves it, re-enable them one at a time and verify that each plugin version supports NetBox v4.6.9. If the error remains with all plugins disabled, please share the complete traceback from the NetBox logs, as the brief error shown here does not identify its origin.

i admittedly downloaded the wrong version, based on the guide it was written to have 4.5.0 instead of "current"

i honestly did not check netbox when i upgraded. the only thing i did was upgrade device types with the script. before i did this i thankfully took a backup.

i did disable all plugins and the same issue happens. where can i find the logs for netbox? /opt/netbox/netbox/logs or /var/log/netbox ?

Which script are you referring to when you say you upgraded the device types?

By default, NetBox logs to the console rather than to a dedicated log file. With a standard systemd-based installation, you can usually view the relevant logs using:

sudo journalctl -eu netbox

Please reproduce the issue, then check the output and share the complete traceback. You can also configure NetBox to write logs to a file using the LOGGING setting in configuration.py, as described in the documentation:
