RKC 0.4.0: local GUI and portable downloads
RKC turns folders, repositories and local documentation exports into a searchable atlas with source references. Version 0.4.0 adds a simpler graphical starting point and portable installers.
Get started
Use the installation guide to choose a download and install RKC, then run rkc gui.
Choose a local folder or search for a GitHub repository. Public GitHub search works without connecting an account. Private access uses an optional GitHub token held only in the running RKC session. A GitHub source is pinned to its revision and archive hash before compilation.
Included
- Local GUI for source selection, compilation, search, relationships, source references and outputs.
- Paginated HTTP collections, typed Go client methods, and bounded GUI pages for larger atlases.
- Markdown, JSON and verified knowledge-pack exports; command-line, HTTP and MCP interfaces for code and agents.
- Portable
rkcandrkc-mcpbinaries for Linux, macOS and Windows on amd64 and arm64, with license notices, dependency records and build receipts. - Native filesystem publication and recovery checks, including Windows crash recovery across separate processes.
The basic workflow runs locally without a model, Python or an API subscription. Linux compilation requires the documented user-systemd and cgroup v2 delegation. Native macOS and Windows GUI compilation uses built-in processing; external helpers and models have separate requirements. Windows compilation uses local source, output and working-storage volumes; different local drives are supported.
Verification
Release source: d3644a0946a4f9989a26a76316e2fb6efb137781. Full main CI and CodeQL passed for this exact commit.
Tagged release qualification passed installation, compilation, cited-context and local GUI checks on Linux amd64/arm64, macOS Intel/Apple silicon, and Windows amd64/arm64. Native filesystem and recovery tests also passed on both macOS and Windows architectures.
The tagged workflow checked the latest exact-source main CI result both before building and after native qualification. Its starting and final CI receipts are included below. All six downloaded archives, their 33 payload files each, installer scripts and native receipts were verified before publication.
Each archive has a checksum and an internal manifest of file hashes. Native smoke receipts identify the exact archive SHA-256 and source commit. These receipts establish the tested build and runner behavior; they are not independent publisher signatures or external build attestations.
RKC is an independent Apache 2.0 open-source project from NeuroForge. Model weights are not included.
