Welcome to v0.8.2! This release marks our official Pre-Launch milestone on Vercel. We have evolved from a feature-complete core CMS into an enterprise-ready, full-stack powerhouse running on Next.js 16, Supabase, and Nx.

By moving completely away from traditional decoupled headless architectures, NextBlock eliminates schema duplication and network lag while maintaining our guaranteed 100/100 Lighthouse performance scores.

Here is everything we’ve packed into this massive update:

⚡ Vercel Visual Editing Integration (Native & Zero-Bloat)
NextBlock is now fully compatible with Vercel’s Visual Editing Studio. Because our architecture renders content directly via Next.js 16 Server Components from strict data payloads, we’ve bypassed third-party bundle penalties.

Stega & Metadata Routing: Integrated @vercel/visual-editing, conditionally mounting the component toolbar exclusively in draft mode.

JSONB Block Renderer Mapping: Updated our recursive component renderer to automatically inject data-vercel-edit-info attributes onto active blocks, passing context URLs directly back to the NextBlock dashboard for click-to-edit capabilities.

🧱 Dynamic Schema Engine & Custom Block CRUD
We have completely unlocked layout freedom by shifting from hardcoded component schemas to a database-driven layout tree.

Zero-Redeploy Block CRUD: Implemented full dashboard CRUD for custom blocks via a new custom_block_definitions Supabase table. Users can now create, duplicate, and modify blocks on the fly without waiting on Vercel deployment pipelines.

Recursive Layout Architecture: Blocks are stored as strict PostgreSQL JSONB nodes capable of rendering infinitely nested container components, multi-column grids, and dynamic layout elements seamlessly at runtime.

🧠 Cortex AI Evolution (Autonomous Widget Synthesis)
Our premium AI package has evolved from basic content generation into an agentic orchestration layer leveraging constrained decoding.

Prompt-to-Widget Generation: You can now prompt Cortex AI to build widgets for you (e.g., "Build a client testimonial block with an R2 image avatar and a 5-star rating toggle"). The agent autonomously outputs strict JSONB definitions directly into your Tiptap slash-command registry.

Global Dashboard Mutation Agent: The admin AI agent is now fully schema-aware. It can query live database analytics and perform global mutations—such as editing your live navigation bar, swapping footers, or updating configurations—directly from a natural language prompt.

🛍️ Premium E-Commerce & Accounting Pro Extensions
The commerce module has received an extensive feature overhaul to support complex international store operations:

Promotions Engine: Added complete CRUD capabilities for dynamic, schema-backed Coupons and Discounts.

Product Management Upgrades: Added a two-column Product Categories dashboard with asynchronous mapping and multi-select pill-badge assignment filters. Furthermore, product descriptions are now fully block-editable inside the Tiptap canvas.

Advanced Accounting Exports: Optimized the /cms/orders ledger for accountants. Built specialized reporting engines to export structured CSV/XLSX data for:

General Sales Ledgers (Full transactional history).

Tax Liability Snapshots (Localized breakdowns syncing with Stripe Auto-Tax jurisdictions).

Revenue by Currency Reports (Multi-currency performance tracking).

🛡️ Law 25, CASL Compliance & Advanced 2FA
Security and legal compliance are now natively baked into our core architecture without relying on heavy, client-side scripts.

Privacy by Default (Law 25 & CASL): Engineered a native, zero-bloat Opt-In Cookie Consent Banner. Non-essential tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Pixels) remain entirely un-injected into the DOM until explicit user authorization is granted.

Infrastructure-Free 2FA: Implemented strict Two-Factor Authentication options. Supports standard App TOTP (Google Authenticator, 1Password) alongside a custom database-driven Email OTP fallback layer (email_2fa_challenges), meaning your compliance security runs safely within our free-tier database limits.

🌐 Core CMS Performance, SEO & Anti-Spam
Dynamic Sitemaps (app/sitemap.ts): Created a fully automated sitemap generator utilizing Next.js 16's use cache edge directives. It natively maps multi-language (i18n) alternates directly from Supabase tables to maximize search engine indexing efficiency.

Smart Form Bot Protection: Added flexible bot protection options for custom Form Blocks. CMS owners can toggle between a zero-friction Honeypot baseline or configure Cloudflare Turnstile and Google reCAPTCHA. External scripts are loaded dynamically and asynchronously via next/script only if active, ensuring zero network waterfall impact on clean pages.

Core Layout Blocks Revamp: Completely re-engineered the Sections block to feature a prioritized Hero layout (for image preloading) and a fluid, responsive carousel Slider component.

💻 Technical Architecture Summary
Frontend/Backend Framework: Next.js 16 (App Router, React Server Components, Turbopack, Edge Routing)

Database & Auth: Supabase / PostgreSQL (JSONB Data Columns, pgcrypto Encryption, Row-Level Security)

Monorepo Architecture: Nx Monorepo

Visual Canvas: Custom Tiptap Editor Core (Notion-style Slash Commands)

Open Source Core Core License: AGPLv3

As we transition our production instance onto Vercel, we need "breaker" testers to push our Next.js caching logic and recursive database loops to their absolute limits.
