Nextcloud Version: 3.16.6 (macOS using virtual file sync)

Group folders always land in the root of each user's sync folder. This can clutter the folder contents, so the web interface has an option to "Show personal files" (i.e., hide group folders). Unfortunately, this is not possible when using the sync client.

Therefore, I'd like to have an option to move group folders to custom locations, so that I can implement my own organization scheme.

the clients are only mimicking what is available online. They do not have their own additional display layer.
As Group Folders will always be mounted to the users-root in Nextcloud Server, they will also be shown there.

The setup of Nextcloud itself could be changed with e.g. nested Group Folders (not advised), but this is a server part. The Client can not do anything here as its "just a dump sync"

Thanks. Do you think it's worth discussing to add movable group folders to the server's capabilities? You say that group folders will always be mounted to the user's root, but is there a technical reason that prevents adding a per-user configuration to specify the mount location?
