Different video formats not working

Steps to reproduce

1. download and click on webm, avi, wmv or mpg videos
2. see either a spinning wheel, changing seconds (without video) or an error message

Expected behaviour

• show video
  or
• show like mkv video: only file name, without showing a video player so that user does not think it can be played.

For now are available ONLY the format support from Apple iOS

Ok. Based on this the app can then just simply show a file detail view, so that user does not think app will play it.
(Currently on e.g. wmv the video player opens, but nothing happens)

The new video player in dev will show a message with the description error (NSLocalizedFailureReason)

I saw it already in TestFlight.
Showing an error leads the user to think/except that it usually should work, but we know that those video formats cannot work, so I think it is better to not show a video player at all.

Maybe... for someone, but only open it we can know if is compatible because a.g. a MKV (can be content codec not compatible or audio non compatible) or AVI can be a mp4 or other.

The user open and try, relying on extension is never a good thing.

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?
Then we can change this to a more meaningful message / look :)

This happen when I open an WMV, view the image preview (if exists) and the error message:

Is it possible to try internally if the video can be played?
If yes, play it.
If no, hide video player and show error message?
