iOS Files app doesnt show files in subdirectories of `/Notes` directory

Ive just started using the notes app and the official nextcloud ios app has an integration with the iOS Files app to show your nextcloud files. Im wanting to use an app called "pretext" to exit my notes on my iPhone but ive noticed that if the note is in a category I can see the category as a sub directory of my notes directory in the iOS Files app but the category directory looks empty. If i use the nextcloud app or web interface i can see all my notes in the category sub directory.

Steps to reproduce

1. have the iOS nextcloud app installed with the advanced setting "Disabled Files App integration" set to its default of "off"
2. create a note in a category from the nextcloud web interface
3. open the iOS Files app and navigate to "nextcloud" > your notes directory > your category name

Expected behaviour

category directory should contain .txt and .md files of notes created in notes app

Actual behaviour

category directory is empty

I can confirm the observed behavior, even more, for me no contents of directories below the top level are displayed.
I have just saved the Nextcloud App Log itself on my Nextcloud. If the file is saved (via the Files App) in a directory below the top level, then I get a message that the file does not exist, either because the file itself or the folder to which it should be copied does not exist. In fact, the operation worked because I can see the file via other means. Moreover, I then saved the Nextcloud App Log again at the top level, this time without error message and the file was directly visible. You can also see in the log the successful save operation from before despite the error message.
Version iOS App4.3.1 on iPhone 7 (iOS 15.3.1) and iPad Pro (iOS 14.8) and NextCloud Server 23.0.2.1

Hi there.

I am shocked to see this issue being open for >3 years now. Today I noticed the same issue described above. In the iOS Files App I cannot access any subfolder of my Nextcloud. Only the files in the rootdir.

If I try to open any Subfolder I get an infinite spinner with text "LOADING" and that's it.
I tried uninstalling the NC App, resetting it, deleting caches, with several reboots in between... nothing seems to work.

Has anyone figured out how to get this working?
