Tagesschau RSS feed images are tiny

When subscribing to the Tagesschau RSS feed recently all image are tiny. The issue seems to be that they are using query parameters in their image URL to provide the width e.g. https://images.tagesschau.de/image/0b5c2112-e4bf-49ba-8071-6d23e44423bd/AAABmmJ3lyw/AAABmgWmh8Q/16x9-big/watson-104.jpg?width=1920 and if that is not being passed default to a tiny image. That same image becomes src="https://images.tagesschau.de/image/0b5c2112-e4bf-49ba-8071-6d23e44423bd/AAABmmJ3lyw/AAABmgWmh8Q/16x9-big/watson-104.jpg?width%3D1920" when read by News and hence breaking the width parameter and getting the tiny image.
The feed validator finds some small issues, but as far as I can tell none that are related to this issue. I tried RSS Guard locally and the images work correctly there.

I use the feed myself and haven't had any problems with it so far, neither with the current version nor with beta 27.2.
The images are specified unchanged with &width=, so the question would be why this is converted to &width%3D on your side.

Which version are you using?
Have you enabled full text for the feed?

I'm on Nextcloud Hub 10 version 31.0.10 (using AIO) and the News app is on version 27.1.0.
I currently don't have full text enabled for the feed, but I did at some point to try it out, but that has the exact same issue with the images. I have since completely removed the feed and re-added it to see if that maybe fixes the issue and that didn't change anything either.

Do you also use the Nextcloud Mail app?
It looks like it's due to the conflict with the HTML Purifier in the Mail app.
Probably a different configuration is used here.

You could try the 27.2 beta, as it uses Symphony HTML Sanitizer.

Thanks for the tip, 27.2 beta does indeed fix the issue. And yes, I have the Mail app installed too
