… instead of special-casing single-input decompression. This enables further standardizations to the entrypoint metadata file.
… instead of requiring every input to have the same global 'strain_id_field'.
Standardize the merged metadata to use "id" as the output id column, so downstream rules no longer need to pass --metadata-id-columns themselves.
