Deliverable: Click here to view.

Description: Gateway Center is a entertainment and conference complex with three main areas, namely the Recreational Center, the Dining Hall, and the Brooks Auditorium. At each area entrance, Gateway installs infrared sensors to detect visitors' movement into and out of the center's facilities. These sensors were put into use since 2016 and provide Gateway Center with a large amount of building traffic data.

Objectives:

  • To visualize the hourly-collected data into an insightful real-time report.
  • To identify visiting trends within the center's facilities for better operational decisions.
  • To inform shareholders of the center's performance and its growth over time.

Result:

  • The report provides live updates to the center's utilization, ensuring safety monitoring and optimal customer service.
  • Shareholders expressed satisfaction with the center's growth and service to the community.
  • The operations team is well-informed of building traffic trends to better schedule labor and forecast costs of utilities.

Tools:

  • Data collection, processing, and storage: Google Sheets
  • Data visualization: Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio)
