Self-hosted appcasts for all 23 cores — every emulation core now has its own hosted appcast, ensuring users always receive the correct ARM64-native binary. Universal-binary cores (previously serving Intel + ARM in one package) have been migrated to dedicated ARM64 builds.
Cores are now independently updatable — future core improvements can ship without a full app release.
Bug fixes
Fixed: Duplicate cores in Preferences → Cores — cores with uppercase letters in their bundle ID (Mednafen, Mupen64Plus, Atari800, Bliss, CrabEmu, and others) were appearing twice. Installed and appcast entries now correctly merge into a single row.
Fixed: "doesn't contain a version for the current architecture" error — Intel-only core bundles from a previous OpenEmu install or backup restore are now detected and removed automatically on every launch, with ARM64 replacements downloading automatically.
Fixed: Setup Assistant hang — the first-launch core download loop now skips cores with no available download (4DO, DeSmuME), preventing a silent hang at the end of setup.
Fixed: Keyboard input not working after granting Input Monitoring permission — keyboards are now re-enumerated immediately after the permission is granted, so you no longer need to restart the app.
Fixed: Input Monitoring alert text on macOS 26 — clarified the permission prompt text and added missing locale entries.
UX improvements
Sidebar hides empty systems — systems with no installed core and no games no longer clutter the sidebar. They appear automatically once a core is installed or a game is added.
"Unavailable" button for unsupported cores — 4DO and DeSmuME now show a greyed-out "Unavailable" button in Preferences → Cores instead of a non-functional Install button.

Library
All cores now present in the workspace — 4DO and several previously missing cores have been added to the OpenEmu-metal workspace so they build and appear correctly.
Notes
If your Dock still shows the old app icon, run killall Dock in Terminal or remove and re-add the app from the Dock.
