The first release of msgspec-x, a community-driven fork of the original msgspec library.

🔧 Why This Fork?

This fork was created to accelerate community contributions and provide extended features while maintaining 100% backward compatibility with the original msgspec library. The upstream maintenance cycle was too slow for critical community needs.

📦 Dual Namespace Architecture

• msgspec namespace: Drop-in replacement with 100% API compatibility
• msgspec_x namespace: Extended features and community contributions (placeholder for future enhancements)

⚠️ Installation

pip install msgspec-x

Important: Do not install both msgspec and msgspec-x in the same environment - they conflict with each other.

🔄 Migration

Existing code works without changes:

import msgspec  # Works exactly the same as before
