v8.0a -- the conductor
Full Changelog: v7.0.0...v8.0a
8.0a — 2026-10-17 — the conductor
- Macros. A tab of its own:
playlists of the rig's own
moves, built block by block —
Scratch for the instrument.
Thirty-two block kinds cover
every engine the app presents:
sends, Serve (standing or
custom doors), the beacon and
GATT hosting, Helm buttons,
War Chests, EMCON and stealth,
the Banshee, costumes and
mimicry personas, listening,
sweeps, knocks, the fuzzer,
Net-Assault, War Room runs,
SIGINT watches, War Games
challenges and defenses — and
the passive blocks: waits,
waiting for an arrival or a
sighting, journal notes,
announcements, and a stop. - Built like blocks. Each
block folds open where it
sits to be configured —
pickers fed live from the
book, the chests, the
personas and the remotes,
toggles and fields that drop
down and close back up.
Blocks drag into order and
carry a repeat count. A
macro is dressed by its
operator: a name, an icon
and a colour from the
palette, a note saying what
it is for. Three templates
wait in the library; the
library exports and imports
as nightjar-macros.json,
and imports land as copies. - Runs honestly. A run
card shows the playlist
before it fires; validation
names every unready block
first. Runs leave a live
log on screen and their
story in the night log; a
block that cannot run stops
the run and says why. - Skelli conducts. She
builds macros from dictated
steps — "build a macro
called Night Post, red with
a moon: go dark; wait 30;
sweep" — dresses them from
the words, adds steps to
them, runs and stops them,
lists and deletes them,
through the same store and
runner the tab drives. Her
manual carries the room and
the whole block catalog. - The whetstone rides
along. 8.0a also carries
the entire 7.7.7 quality
sweep below — folded in
before it ever wore its
own tag.
