Semper 1.0.0 is the first packaged release. Semper is a native macOS menu bar
app for per-application audio control.

Highlights

  • Per-application volume, mute, and solo from the menu bar
  • Per-application output routing, for example calls to AirPods while music
    plays on desktop speakers
  • 10-band parametric EQ with AutoEQ headphone profile support
  • ISO 226 equal-loudness contour compensation
  • Software gain up to 300% with a peak soft limiter starting at -1 dBFS
  • Automatic in-app updates via Sparkle

Requirements

  • macOS 15.4 or later
  • Screen & System Audio Recording permission (required for Core Audio process
    taps; audio is processed in memory on your Mac and never uploaded)
  • Microphone permission (only for input-device monitoring)
  • Accessibility permission (optional, for system media-key control)

Install

Download Semper.dmg below, open it, and drag Semper into Applications. Or
with Homebrew:

brew install --cask niharnm/tap/semper
