What's new

  • Wi-Fi updates — install stable releases from Settings without USB. Automatic updates check on launch when Wi-Fi is already connected; manual check available anytime.
  • Multi-ABI support — single package includes Qt soft-float, InkView soft-float and InkView hard-float (PB1030/RK3566). The launcher auto-detects the correct binary.
  • inotify-based tracking — the daemon wakes on actual database changes instead of blind polling, reducing unnecessary wake-ups.
  • Presence-based reading time — measures actual time at the device rather than relying solely on firmware timestamps.
  • Improved launcher icon — round focus highlight matching the firmware's style; book faces upward. Existing installs refresh the icon automatically.
  • Hamburger menu icon — drawn inline instead of relying on a firmware resource that may not exist on all devices.
  • Session persistence — sessions no longer lose accumulated time on app restart or page-back.
  • Cover stability — covers keyed by content hash to survive storage ID changes and book deletions.
  • Autostart on launch — EPUB handler set up automatically, no manual toggle needed. Other readers (KOReader etc.) are never displaced.
  • Atomic release activation — updates validated and activated atomically; a failed update cannot leave a broken install.

Install

Download BetterStats-v1.2.0.zip, extract onto the reader's root via USB, eject, open BetterStats once. Future updates install over Wi-Fi.
