Gridcoin-RPC v1.2.2

What's New

  • Remote Node Support: Connect to a remote Gridcoin daemon (gridcoinresearchd) running on a home server, NAS, or Raspberry Pi while Discord runs on your desktop. Configure rpc_host, rpc_port, rpc_user, and rpc_password via CLI arguments, .env, or settings.json.
  • Zero-Config Remote Fallback: Seamlessly uses remote credentials without errors even when the local %AppData% or ~/.GridcoinResearch directory is empty or missing.
  • Headless Mode (--headless): Added --headless CLI flag to run without GUI/system tray components, preventing conflicts on Linux with Wayland or tiling window managers.
  • Systemd Service Integration: Included ready-to-use user service unit (scripts/gridcoin-rpc.service) with graceful SIGTERM and SIGINT shutdown handling.
  • IPv6 Address Support: Full support for IPv6 node addresses with automatic RFC 3986 formatting (http://[...]:port).
  • Clear Auth Diagnostics: HTTP 401 Unauthorized errors are now explicitly identified, displaying a clear RPC Auth Failed Discord status instead of generic connection drops.
  • CLI Options: Added --rpc-host, --rpc-port (with 1–65535 range validation), --rpc-user, --rpc-password, and --version.
