Fixes from a full QA pass over 0.2.8.
Please read before updating
- Podcast feed title. A show with the same name as its blog is now titled "Your Blog (Podcast)" in the feed itself (
<channel><title>), not only in the page's feed link, so podcast apps will show the new name. To keep the old name, give the show its own name inpodcast/index.mdor[podcast] title. (#27) - New file to commit:
dates.toml. The date of a post with no date of its own (it decides the post's address) is now kept indates.tomlin the blog folder, not only in the ignored.blog/. A git clone or a copy then keeps the same addresses. After updating, the service writes it for each blog from the dates already recorded, so no address changes. If the blog folder is in git, commitdates.toml. (#28) [podcast.storage] prefixneeds 0.2.9 or newer. This new setting fixes the folder episode files use on the audio host, so renaming the blog folder no longer changes every episode address. Left out, nothing changes.podcast setupnow writes it, andfolderblog checksuggests the exact line for existing shows. Older versions refuse ablog.tomlthat has it, so update every machine that builds the blog first. (#34)
Fixed
- Podcast page title. The default podcast page's title no longer repeats the blog's name ("Blog · Blog"). (#27)
- Publishing an episode keeps your notes.
folderblog podcast publish --episode(and the MCPpublish_episodetool) now changes only thedraft:line. Before, it rewrote the whole front matter and dropped every comment from the template. (#29) checklooks at draft episodes too. Their problems, like a missingguid, show up as warnings. The suggested guid is the same every run.folderblog podcastcounts episodes left out because of a problem, and a draft no longer needs audio hosting. (#30)- S3-compatible storage. With
type = "s3"and no key, folderblog now says how to give it one (FOLDERBLOG_STORAGE_KEY_ID/FOLDERBLOG_STORAGE_SECRET, or a key file) instead of pointing at the R2-onlypodcast setup. Both are now documented. (#31) - Honest retry messages. A held publish only says it will be retried when the background service is running. Otherwise it says what to run. (#32)
- No systemd user session.
folderblog statussays so instead of printing(service: ). A failedinstall-serviceremoves the unit file it wrote (or puts back the old one) and says what to do instead. (#33) checklists pictures nothing shows. Pictures inposts/andpages/that no page uses are still published, andchecknow names them. It also notes that robots.txt under abase_urlpath isn't read by search engines. (#35)- Docs. The install links are pinned to the release, so they don't break when a newer one comes out. Building from source uses
--tag. Also covered: template route headers, settingbase_urlfor other hosts, machines without a systemd user session, the preview address andfolderblog dataexamples. (#36)
