Kia ora! 1.45 is for meetings where everyone is in the same room: choose In the room before you record, and Kōrero sorts the transcript by speaker when you stop. It also brings the 1.44 fixes: notes for long meetings now read the whole meeting, and the audio brief works again.

New in 1.45.0

  • On a call or in the room. Choose before you press Record: on Today, on Meetings, in the pop-out recorder, or with Ctrl K (Record a call / Record in the room). Kōrero remembers your choice, and a room recording always says so when it starts.
    • In the room records your microphone only, so there are no warnings about missing call audio, and it picks up quieter speech from across the table.
    • When you stop, the transcript is rebuilt from the recording one speaker turn at a time and labelled Speaker 1, Speaker 2, and so on. Re-transcribe on a room meeting does the same, after asking.
  • Separate speakers on any meeting's Audio tab. Kōrero works out who said what from the microphone recording and labels each line. It runs on this computer. The first time, it downloads two small models (about 32 MB), checked against pinned hashes.
    • On four public meeting recordings, about a fifth of the speech was missed or given the wrong speaker, so check the labels before you rely on them.
  • Even meeting labels. The source and status labels at the top of a meeting are now the same width.

Fixes (from 1.44)

  • Notes for long meetings read the whole meeting. Over 48,000 characters, the transcript is read in parts and the notes are written from all of them, with progress shown ("reading part 1 of 3…"). Flagged moments always make it in. Notes written by an earlier version from part of a meeting show a Write full notes button.
  • The audio brief works again. Choose the voice engine's folder in Settings → Models → Text-to-speech. The Meetings Audio brief button now writes a short spoken script first, and a script too long to read in full is refused instead of being cut off.
  • A Windows audio library was updated for a security advisory (RUSTSEC-2026-0332). Kōrero never used the affected code, but the update removes it.

Installing

Download Korero_1.45.0_x64-setup.exe below, or let Kōrero update itself. The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you: choose More info → Run anyway. Your settings, meetings, notes and recordings are kept.

Ngā mihi!
