The first public release of noddle draw — an open-source collaborative diagram board. Open the site, you're drawing: no account, the board URL is the invite.

Highlights

Draw together, zero friction

  • Anonymous by design — your identity lives in your browser; share the URL and people co-edit instantly
  • Live collaboration over WebSocket: shared cursors, presence, per-page state sync
  • Comment threads pinned to shapes, anonymous-friendly

A real diagram engine

  • Flowchart shapes, containers, standalone text, multi-page boards, stencil libraries
  • Orthogonal smart arrows: A* elbow routing, draggable waypoints, port snapping, auto-reroute
  • Animated edges — dash / dots / beam / pulse flows, with speed & intensity per edge
  • Text wrap, align/distribute, grouping (⌘G), rubber-band select, full keyboard shortcuts (⌘C/V/D, ⌘B/I/U, ⌘±, Space hand-pan, type-to-edit)
  • Version history on every board

AI co-editor (bring your own key)

  • Chat with the board: "add an error-handling branch", "group these by tier"
  • Sketch/whiteboard photo → editable shapes; text/Mermaid → diagram
  • Your key stays in your browser's localStorage — the server proxies the call and never stores it; a Test button verifies it first

Self-hosting

One container (FastAPI + prebuilt React SPA) + optional Postgres (falls back to file storage). MIT licensed.

Six good first issues are ready: dark mode, a shortcuts dialog, recent boards, touch support, GCP/K8s stencils, PNG export scale.
