Fewer tokens per run, a lean agent type for workers, and fixes for macOS, where v1.0.0's shadow and active-run scripts failed under the stock bash 3.2.

Highlights

  • New parallel-lanes-worker agent type with a lean toolset, so each agent starts with a smaller context. install.sh installs it to ~/.claude/agents/ and removes it on uninstall. If a spawn with it fails, the run retries on the default agent type, and the hand-back report says so (agent_type_fallback).
  • New scripts/start-task and scripts/finish-task helpers fold an agent's opening and closing bookkeeping (fast-forward, brief, review package, commit checks, ledger events) into one call each. finish-task also refuses commits outside the task's range.
  • Less reference text in the main session: adopting earlier work and the worked example moved to adopt.md, which is read only when needed.
  • Same checks, reviews, ledger events, recovery paths and consent steps as v1.0.0, with the same models. Manifests written by v1.0.0 still resume.

Fixes

  • macOS: shadow, active-run and find-superpowers now run under bash 3.2, the macOS default. On a stock Mac, v1.0.0's shadow-repo preview and writeback always failed, active-run list failed whenever no run was active, and find-superpowers exited 1 instead of 3 when it found no install.
  • macOS: shadow writeback no longer fails when it changes a file's executable bit (macOS chmod rejects --).
  • start-task and finish-task remove git redirect variables (GIT_DIR, GIT_WORK_TREE, GIT_INDEX_FILE, GIT_OBJECT_DIRECTORY, GIT_COMMON_DIR) from the environment before running git, so a caller's settings cannot point them at the wrong repo.

Testing

  • CI now runs the test suite on every pull request and push to main: ubuntu with Node 24 and Node 18, and macOS with Node 24.
  • 433 tests, up from 385 in v1.0.0.
  • Not yet measured: the token savings and the worker agent type in a live run. If the worker type misbehaves, runs fall back to the default agent type, and setting agent_type to null in the manifest restores v1.0.0 behavior.

Upgrade

In your clone:

git pull && bash install.sh

This replaces the installed skill, adds the worker agent type, and does not add the hooks twice. Restart Claude Code afterwards. For a new install, see the README.
