ComfyLauncher v1.10.0
Status: Stable
Platform: Windows 10/11 · Linux (Ubuntu 24.04+)
Builds: Installer (.exe), Portable archive (.zip), Linux AppImage
Notes
1.10.0 is about the rough edges around the launcher rather than the launcher
itself. The windows behave like normal windows now - they resize, they minimize,
they remember their size. The settings window opens without the pause it used to
have. And when something does go wrong, the launcher can both install what is
missing and help you report what broke, instead of dying with a raw error.
Your builds, settings and flags carry over untouched.

🧩 The launcher installs the WebView2 Runtime for you. Without it the
launcher used to fail with a raw error that said nothing about what was
missing. It now checks for the Runtime on every start - before the first
setup screen - and offers to install it. The installer is Microsoft's own
bootstrapper (1.85 MB) and runs for the current user, so no admin rights and
no UAC prompt. You can also open Microsoft's download page instead: the dialog
stays up, notices the Runtime once it is installed and continues the launch,
so you never have to hunt down the launcher and start it again. -
🐞 Report a problem. The launcher now builds a report for you: launcher and
OS versions, build type, startup flags, the launcher log, the ComfyUI console
and your settings - all in a single.txtfile, no archives. Personal data is
stripped before you see it: your home folder, user, computer and domain names,
e-mail addresses, IP addresses and OneDrive organisation names are replaced.
You see and can edit the exact text that gets sent, and nothing leaves on its
own - each route is a button press. Two routes for now: open a GitHub issue,
or save the file and open the Discord channel. Reach it from the bug icon in
the header, from Settings - About, or from the error screen when a launch
fails. Unhandled errors open the same window instead of closing the launcher
silently. -
💾 Your settings are backed up outside
%APPDATA%. If the launcher starts
and finds no builds - a wiped profile, a new machine, a reinstalled Windows -
it offers to restore them from the backup instead of starting over.

🪟 The main window resizes from its edges and minimizes from the taskbar.
A frameless Qt window on Windows comes up without the minimize and system-menu
bits, so clicking the taskbar icon would restore the window but never minimize
it back. Dragging an edge did nothing at all. Both work now. -
📋 The build selector moves, minimizes and changes height. It used to be
nailed to 730x550 in the centre of the screen, with a long build list that
could only scroll. You can now drag it by any empty spot, resize it by the top
and bottom edges, and the height is remembered between runs. -
🎨 The theme is no longer reset to dark after updating from 1.7.0 or older.
Those versions kept the config next to the application; 1.8.0 moved it to
%APPDATA%and migrates it on first read. The theme was read before that
migration ran, so the first start after the update always came up dark. -
⚠️ Settings pages tell you when a save fails. Behavior, Start App and build
deletion ignored a failed write: Apply said "Settings saved" and a deleted
build vanished from the list while staying in the file. They now warn, and the
change stays unsaved. -
🌐 The download toast in the web view is in English like the rest of the UI.
-
🖥️ Settings and the console open over the launcher, on its monitor. They
used to appear on the primary monitor even when the launcher was on another
one. The console remembers where you dragged it and only comes back over the
launcher if it was left off screen. -
💬 Message boxes open over their own window. A warning raised from Color
Themes - say, importing a broken theme - used to land in the corner of the
primary monitor instead of over Settings. -
🎨 Settings repaints when the theme changes. It used to keep the old colours
until you reopened it, and Apply on Color Themes closed the window. Every page
now repaints in place and the window stays open. A disabled Apply button also
looks disabled on the light theme again. -
🛑 Stopping ComfyUI no longer kills the wrong process. The hard stop used to
take down a listener on port 8188 that belonged to a sibling folder (say
ComfyUI_windows_portable_old) or, for a build in the drive root, to any
program on the drive. It now only stops processes that belong to the build
being stopped. -
🗂️ A broken or interrupted config no longer costs you your settings. A save
cut short leaves the previoususer_config.jsonintact instead of a truncated
file, and a config that fails to load is logged instead of silently reset. -
🖌️ A broken theme can no longer take the launcher down. Importing an
unusable theme file is refused with the reason; theme files saved with a BOM
import fine; a saved theme missing an error colour is repaired; a theme that
fails to apply leaves the previous one active, and a broken custom theme at
startup falls back to dark. -
🚩 Flags picker fixes.
--portis gone from the list (the launcher only
talks to 8188), negative numbers are read as the flag's value, a cleared value
falls back to the flag's default, and the value editor shows the value the
flag is actually saved with. -
🔧 Smaller fixes:
- Editing or adding a build no longer marks it as the last used one; a config
withoutlast_used_build_idfinds the current build by its path. - Closing Settings asks about unsaved edits on every page you visited, not just
the one on screen. Exit closes Settings first, so its Cancel stops the exit. - The header's minimize, maximize and close buttons light up on hover.
- The first-run setup window drags by any empty spot and minimizes from the
taskbar. - Open Release Page on the About page stands out once an update is found.
- Report a problem: the scrubber also catches profiles in any case, network
shares, short names and domain accounts; a repeating error opens one report
window instead of many; the preview waits for a pause in typing.
- Editing or adding a build no longer marks it as the last used one; a config
Faster
-
⚡ The settings window opens in 95-550 ms instead of 480-990 ms. All six
pages used to be built every time the window opened, including the ones with
video and theme previews that most people never visit. Pages are now built on
first visit. -
📄 The Launcher Logs page opens in 85-255 ms instead of 400-700 ms, and the
window no longer freezes for about 3 seconds after opening on a large log -
which happened even if you never went to the Logs page at all. -
🪄 The About page opens in about 80 ms instead of 420 and stops using the
CPU. The logo is a small animated image instead of a 1520 px video, so it
no longer starts the multimedia engine, and it only plays while it is on
screen. The download is 2.3 MB lighter. -
🪶 The console stops polling in the background once you close it.
Packaging
- 📦 The Windows build is no longer packed with UPX, which tends to cut down
false positives from antivirus software. - 📜 Third-party license notices (
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt) now ship with
the installer and the portable archive. - 🐧 The Linux AppImage is built on Ubuntu 22.04 so it runs on older glibc,
and it bundles libpulse so the splash video does not depend on the host.
Upgrading from 1.9.0
Nothing to do. Your settings and builds live in %APPDATA%\ComfyLauncher and are
picked up automatically.

Feedback / Bug Reports
Use Report a problem in the launcher - the bug icon in the header or
Settings - About. It collects the logs, the console and your settings, strips the
personal bits, and lets you open a GitHub issue or drop the file in Discord.
You can also report by hand on Discord.
