v1.17.2
Fixed
- The writing skill gives short replies the em-dash rule in plain words. A reply under about 100 words is never checked, and the hand trial on the web, desktop and phone apps found an em dash in the short first reply on two of the three.
v1.17.1
Fixed
- The writing skill's draft check lists at most 5 findings per rule and 50 in all, errors first, with a note saying what was left out. A long draft full of tells used to produce several megabytes of JSON, which chat's code tool showed to Claude only in part.
v1.17.0
Added
- The Claude Code plugin carries a writing skill,
plain-english, for Claude chat and Cowork. It gives Claude the reply rules there, and checks a substantial draft with a script that runs the plugin's own checker. Claude passes the draft to the script through a file, so nothing in the draft can run as a command. The checker's core gainscheckDraft, which checks a reply or document passed as text and reports whether every check ran.
Changed
- The plugin's bundled checker moved from
hooks/core/toskills/plain-english/scripts/core/, so the mod and the writing skill share one copy.
v1.16.6
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin's bundled libraries define no getter, setter or
Object.definePropertyproperty and look up no prototype orconstructor; the build writes each as a plain property or method. The Claude directory warned that such code "runs the mod's code when it is merely read" and "can hide what its code does". The plugin's config reader now refuses a key named__proto__, and the YAML nodeclonemethod, which the checker never calls, refuses instead of copying. - The README runs every command through an npm script,
npm run prose --, set up bynpm pkg set scripts.prose=plain-english, in place ofnpx. The Claude directory warned thatnpxlines are a download-and-run pattern.
v1.16.5
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin names no variable after a command that lists the environment, and no line in it begins with one. The ruleset's variable is now
rulesetand the environment'senvironment, and the plugin's copy of the YAML parser calls its set typesetTag. The Claude directory read lines such asset = merge(...)as the shell'sset.
v1.16.4
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin's bundled code builds no message with a
${...}substitution that names a key or token. The build writes them as plain joined text, which reads the same. The Claude directory read the YAML parser'sKey ${_pair.key} already setas the installer's key.
v1.16.3
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin's copy of the YAML parser writes its error codes in lower case, such as
unexpected-token, and calls its merge markerMERGE_MARK. The Claude directory readUNEXPECTED_TOKENas the installer's token. Nothing reads the codes, so the checker behaves the same.
v1.16.2
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin names no network host: the model answers its mod passes to the checker moved to a field called
answered, and the Markdown library'sfile:address helper is replaced by one that accepts none. The Claude directory readhostas a way to send data.
v1.16.1
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin's copy of the built-in ruleset names this repository's guides by path, and leaves out rule source credits and comments, so the plugin carries no web address. The rules are unchanged. The Claude directory paired the ruleset's addresses with the YAML parser's own variable names.
v1.16.0
Changed
- The Claude Code plugin runs the checker inside its mod and starts no program (ADR-008). Files reach the checker through Claude Code's own file calls, and model questions through the session's model, as before. The plugin no longer ships a bundled CLI, its launcher or a separate ruleset file.
- When Claude Code cannot make an extra model check, the plugin reports it unavailable and keeps the pattern result. The
claude -pfallback is gone from the plugin; the CLI keeps it. - Approving a project term from the plugin saves only when Claude Code's working folder is the project root the check named.
- The checker's core reads files through an io object, with Node's as the default, so the CLI behaves as before. Hashing and path handling have pure versions held to Node's results by tests.
- Jira and Confluence HTML is read by the checker's own reader instead of
htmlparser2, which is no longer a dependency. It decodes the named entities that text uses and every numeric one; a rare named entity stays as written.
Removed
- The plugin's cancellation probe and its CI steps: no program runs to cancel.
- The Claude writing benchmark's receipts for the checks mode, which the bundled CLI wrote (#136).
