VaultPony 1.1.0
Argon2id support, requested in #1.
VeraCrypt 1.26.29 added Argon2id as a key derivation for volume headers. VaultPony now opens those volumes, can create new ones with Argon2id, and can move an existing volume's header to Argon2id (or back) when you change its password. It uses VeraCrypt's exact parameters (416 MiB and 6 passes at the default PIM), and volumes made either way open in both apps.
Unlocking
- A Key derivation choice on the unlock screen: Auto tries every KDF like VeraCrypt does, or pick PBKDF2 or Argon2id to skip the other one's cost. On an Argon2id vault this cuts unlock time to a few seconds.
- A Cancel button while unlocking. System back also cancels instead of leaving the screen.
- A free-memory check before any unlock that may run Argon2id, with a choice to try anyway or skip Argon2id, instead of the system killing the app.
- Biometric unlock remembers which KDF a vault uses. Enrollments from earlier versions keep working.
Passwords
- Every password field has a show/hide button.
- A PIM below the default now needs a password of at least 20 characters when you create a vault or set a new password, the same rule VeraCrypt applies (below 485 for PBKDF2, below 12 for Argon2id). Opening existing vaults is not affected.
Also
- The unlock screen has a Back button.
- New strings in all six languages.
The APK is reproducible and signed with the same key as earlier releases. Verify it with the attached .asc.
VaultPony 1.0.5
VaultPony 1.0.5
Fixes from the F-Droid inclusion review:
- USE_FINGERPRINT is now declared in the manifest instead of merging in silently from androidx.biometric, so the manifest is a full record of what the app can do.
- The system Files root now drops on lock instead of lingering as a stale "Unlocked container" entry. The container contents were always cleared on lock; this clears the label too.
- The two unlock-screen checkboxes are labelled so a screen reader reads one checkbox with its state, not a bare control and a separate line of text.
- Added F-Droid changelog files so the listing shows What's New.
