Wallwidgy v1.5

We're excited to announce Wallwidgy v1.5, bringing smarter wallpaper discovery, automated wallpaper rotation, and a refined experience across the app.

Smart Semantic Search (Offline AI)

Finding wallpapers is now more intuitive than ever.

  • Search using concepts instead of exact keywords.
  • Queries like "forest" can surface woodland-themed wallpapers, while "kitty" can match cat wallpapers.
  • Powered entirely by on-device AI using Google MediaPipe and a local Universal Sentence Encoder model.
  • No cloud processing — all searches remain private on your device.
  • Optional download (~15 MB) with real-time progress tracking.
  • Can be enabled, disabled, or removed at any time from the About section.

Automated Wallpaper Rotation

Keep your setup fresh automatically.

New Rotate Tab

A dedicated rotation dashboard with live Home Screen and Lock Screen previews.

Multiple Wallpaper Sources

Choose wallpapers from:

  • Favorites
  • Categories
  • Accent Colors
  • Entire Library (Random Shuffle)

Flexible Scheduling

Set automatic rotation intervals of:

  • 12 Hours
  • 24 Hours
  • 48 Hours
  • Custom Hour-Based Intervals

Reliable Background Execution

Built on Android WorkManager for dependable scheduling that survives device reboots while remaining battery-conscious.

Improved Desktop & Widescreen Experience

Wallwidgy now better accommodates landscape and desktop wallpapers.

  • Desktop orientation wallpapers now use an optimized single-column layout.
  • Widescreen images are displayed in their intended aspect ratio without unnecessary cropping.
  • Skeleton loading states dynamically adapt to layout type for a smoother browsing experience.

Updating

Users will receive update notifications automatically when a newer release is available. You can also manually check for updates from the About page.
