dx.bi 2.11.0

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 21 Oct 20:01

Title pages

  • Reviews: Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores now sit beside the IMDb rating, and a new Reviews button next to Trailer opens the critics' summary from Wikipedia, with a link to read more. It works for everyone, with no account or setup.

  • More with free keys (optional): a TMDB key adds audience reviews, and an MDBList key adds fresher scores, including Rotten Tomatoes audience, Letterboxd and Trakt. Paste them under Reviews in dx.bi's settings and press Close to save. Each key is only sent to its own service. The README explains where to get them.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

Home

  • Hover cards stay open after scrolling a row: once a row had been scrolled with the arrows or the wheel, pointing at a title made its card pop open and snap shut straight away. Now it opens and stays, the same as on a row you haven't touched.

Player

  • Every player button says what it is — hover any of Stremio's own player buttons (speed, cast, subtitles, audio, episodes, statistics, more options, back) and it now shows its name, like dx.bi's own buttons do.

  • No more giant arrow over the video on Windows — on some Windows PCs the player's back arrow was drawn across the whole screen, and clicking anywhere sent you back to the streams list. The top bar's icons now always stay small and let clicks through to the video. (This came from an older or preview Stremio Enhanced build; installing Stremio Enhanced 1.2.0 fixes it too.)

DX.BI 2.10.5: soft row edges, calm Continue Watching

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 23:22

Smoother

  • Rows fade softly into the screen edges — titles that slide aside for a hover card, or peek in from a scrolled row, now fade out at the edge of the screen instead of being sliced off.

  • Continue Watching stays calm — its cards no longer open a hover card. They lift gently and show play and the remove tab.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.10.4: smooth as butter hover cards

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 23:06

Smoother

  • Hover cards open without a single stutter — every frame of the opening now takes about 6 ms on a 165 Hz screen, down from frames of up to 117 ms. The poster no longer flashes the layer underneath as the card unfolds.

Fixed

  • Titles cut off by the edge of the screen stay in their row — no hover card pops out over the edge. Titles at either end of the screen open inwards from their own edge.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.10.3: unfolding hover cards, full-screen trailers

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 22:37

New

  • Hover cards that unfold — the card opens out from the poster with a soft glow in the title's colours, and the titles either side glide aside to make room. Moving along a row, each card opens exactly over its title.

  • Trailers full screen — while a hover card's trailer plays, press the full-screen button to keep watching from the same moment, with sound, in dx.bi's own player. It has title art, Play and More info, pause, mute and a seek bar that fade away when the mouse is still. Press Esc to close.

Improved

  • Remove from Continue Watching — a slim tab that opens out into Remove. It's no longer hidden under the "+N new episodes" badge, and pointing at it never opens the hover card. Hover cards for these titles have their own remove button too.

Fixed

  • A title's hover card sometimes didn't open again after you moved away while it was loading.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.10.2: clearer playback errors on Windows

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 22:09

Fixes

  • No more "streaming server isn't running" by mistake — when a converted video failed, dx.bi could wrongly say the server wasn't running. It now waits longer, asks twice, and keeps the first answer it worked out.

  • Better advice for Windows error 3221225781 — the missing file isn't Media Foundation, as 2.9.6 said. dx.bi now points to the real fixes: Stremio Service, re-downloading ffmpeg and ffprobe, or updating a copy of ffmpeg you installed yourself.

  • Copy details now includes the Windows build and processor type.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.10.1: billboard fix, new screenshots

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 21:59

Fix

  • Never two billboards on Home — if dx.bi was updated or reloaded while Home's billboard was still loading, a second billboard could appear above the first. It now checks first and clears any leftover.

README

New screenshots of every page, plus short animations of the hover preview, black-bar removal on an ultrawide screen, and one-click subtitle sync.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.10.0: Picture & sound, subtitle sync, Library sorting

Choose a tag to compare

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 21:23

New: Picture & sound panel

Click the sliders button in the player.

  • Remove black bars — crops off bars that are part of the video itself (great on ultrawide screens). You can also zoom to 110%, 125% or 133%.

  • Dialogue boost and Night mode — clearer voices, and loud and quiet scenes evened out so you can keep the volume down.

  • Subtitle sync — click the line you just heard and the subtitles line up.

  • Second subtitles — show a second language at the top of the picture.

Also new

  • Library sorting — newest, oldest or top rated, plus a genre filter.

  • Watched titles — optionally dim or hide them in Discover, Search and Home. Off by default.

  • Next episode loaded early — near the end of an episode, so the next one starts sooner.

  • Subtitles on HDR — can be dimmed to grey so they don't glare.

Fixes

  • Subtitle style and font now also apply to subtitles from addons such as OpenSubtitles.
  • Picture enhancement now follows Stremio's Crop and Stretch buttons.
  • The player title no longer collides with the buttons on narrower windows.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.

DX.BI 2.9.6: Windows converter help

@notdxbi notdxbi released this 20 Oct 20:24

DX.BI 2.9.6: Windows converter help

  • When Windows can't start Stremio's streaming-server converter because a system file is missing (error 3221225781, usually Media Foundation missing on Windows 10/11 N editions), dx.bi now says so and explains the fix: install the Media Feature Pack (Windows Settings → search Optional features → Add a feature) and restart, or switch to Stremio Service.

Stremio Enhanced updates the plugin automatically, or you can rerun the installer.
