Transparency 0.2.0 — Backdrop studio

Transparency now has a backdrop studio: preview your workspace, choose a look, and adjust colors, surfaces, and motion in one panel.

• Six animated backdrops, including new Silk and Contours, plus Glow, wallpaper, and Plain.
• Theme and named palettes, three custom colors, and rendering quality controls.
• A local custom GLSL library with import/export, compiler feedback, and preview-before-save.
• Native sidebar and Settings controls with automatic saving across windows.
• Compact screens keep reading surfaces opaque and pause the global shader.
• Fixed a fallback layer covering the live shader; graphics loss and recovery are verified against visible BB pixels.

Requires BB 0.41.0+. No account, API key, or subscription is needed. Enable transparency after installing; it starts disabled.

Existing installations retain appearance preferences. Resetting appearance retains saved custom shaders. The range lets BB offer compatible 0.2.x updates through its plugin controls.

Validation: 18 tests, TypeScript, SDK build, actual BB browser checks across phone/tablet/desktop widths, and pixel checks for shader changes and graphics recovery. The rendering fix was also verified on Apple M4 Pro hardware using Chrome’s Metal renderer.
