Changed

  • auto layout: the box drives its text. Resize the box or change its padding and a filled text re-wraps to fit. Resizing a hugging box makes its text fill it, so a button's label follows the button.
  • auto layout: a fixed size holds until the content needs more. Type past a card's fixed height and the card grows to hold the text (unless Clip content is on).
  • auto layout: layers set to Fill share the space equally, like Figma. A long line wraps to its share instead of pushing the box open.
  • text: inside an auto layout, the text's own Resizing and Box size controls step aside. The layout's W/H (Hug · Fixed · Fill) is the one control. Dragging a layer's box handles inside a layout makes that side Fixed.

Fixed

  • auto layout: clicking anywhere inside an auto layout box selects it, not only its text.
  • auto layout: removing auto layout from a text in a shape brings the rectangle back behind the text, instead of moving its fill onto the text.

Installing

macOS

AtomCut is not yet notarized, so on first launch Gatekeeper will say the app
"is damaged and can't be opened" or "cannot be opened because the developer
cannot be verified." This is expected for unsigned builds. After dragging
AtomCut into Applications, clear the quarantine flag once:

xattr -cr /Applications/AtomCut.app

Then open it normally. (Alternatively: right-click the app → Open → Open.)

Windows

SmartScreen may warn on first run. Choose More info → Run anyway.

Linux

  • AppImage: chmod +x AtomCut-*.AppImage && ./AtomCut-*.AppImage
  • Debian/Ubuntu: sudo dpkg -i AtomCut-*.deb

Once installed, AtomCut keeps itself up to date automatically — new versions are
offered in-app and install on relaunch.
