Deployment

This application uses Heroku for its production environment. For sending emails, it is configured to use Mandrill.

Pushing to GitHub

To be able to push to this repository, you must be added as a collaborator on GitHub. Please sign up for an account on GitHub and contact Niki Liu to become a collaborator.

Accessing App on Heroku

To access the application on Heroku, you must be added as a collaborator to the Heroku app by either Dr. Barnett or Niki Liu. Please register for an account on Heroku and reach out to either party to request becoming a collaborator.

Deploying New Commits to Production

Install the Heroku Toolbelt. The toolbelt provides shell commands to interact with apps you have access to via Heroku.

The following commands assume that you are already in the transferur/ directory, and that your changes have been committed.

heroku login      # authenticate with Heroku
git push          # push to GitHub
git push heroku   # push commits to Heroku

Running Rake Tasks on Production

heroku run rake db:migrate   # replace db:migrate with any other rake command
