NVIDIA driver 1.0.6

  • Remove NVIDIA driver now removes it. If you had installed an earlier NullMoth driver before updating, removing the driver put that older version back. Removal no longer restores any NullMoth file, and it always checks that the driver is gone from the kernel collection.
  • RTX 20/30/40 series: WindowServer no longer crashes when you change the resolution.
  • OpenCL apps (Geekbench OpenCL and others) no longer quit while building their kernels.
  • Cards that start with a small memory window (Resizable BAR off in the BIOS): the driver enlarges the window to at most 8 GB. 16 GB stopped some RTX 3060 and RTX 5080 cards during startup.
  • eGPUs and cards behind a PCIe switch or Thunderbolt: the driver no longer moves the card's memory window, which made the card unreachable.
  • Tested on an RTX 5060: install, removal over an older driver, and reinstall, each with a restart.

1401 Mac 1.0.9 installs driver 1.0.6. Already installed? Open 1401 Mac 1.0.9, run the install again and restart. If it still does not start on your card: 1401 > Crash report > Send logs, then post the report ID in the NullMoth Discord.

Removing the driver by hand (sudo ./uninstall.sh) on an OpenCore setup you made yourself: also take nvfb=1 nvaccel=1 out of boot-args and remove the IONDRVSupport block from Kernel > Block before restarting, or the screen stays black. The "1401: Remove NVIDIA driver" boot entry does this for you.
