New

  • layered recipe (recipe = "layered" in a look file): LibRaw's display rendering followed by an ordered list of float steps — levels, sigmoid, saturation, chroma-blur, stretch, unsharp, fringe, bright-smooth, clamp. The maths follows ImageMagick 7 Q16-HDRI, so a develop prototyped as magick commands can be carried over as a look file. A seven-command magick develop was reproduced at 44–56 dB PSNR (SSIM ≥ 0.994, mean ΔE2000 ≤ 0.25) on 39 24 MP frames, ~3.7 s per frame instead of ~2.5 min.
  • --threads N for develop / night / day: cap CPU threads (pixel work + LibRaw decode). Output is byte-identical at any thread count. Running two batches side by side is fine (~10% faster than one after the other in our tests); no need to queue them.
  • --dump-stages on a layered look writes a 16-bit PPM after every step.

Unchanged

  • The four built-in looks (neutral-day, neutral-night, rich-day, rich-night) produce byte-identical output to 0.1.0.

Downloads

  • rawdev-0.1.2-x86_64-linux.tar.gz — x86-64-v3 (AVX2, ~2015+ CPUs)
  • rawdev-0.1.2-x86_64-baseline-linux.tar.gz — any x86-64 (~20% slower noise reduction)

Each has a .sha256. Built in Debian 12 (glibc 2.36), libjpeg-turbo static. Needs libraw (dcraw_emu) and exiftool at runtime. See CHANGELOG.md.
