This is a small Python virtual environment that is basically my more-or-less current Python "junk drawer", full of miscellaneous tools—written in Python—that I fairly often. It's basically a requirements.txt file you can shove into a virtual environment of Python.
This includes tools that are "mutually compatible". Some tools don't "play well" and have to have their own environments.
Do something like the following:
$ git clone …
$ cd python
$ python3 -m venv .
$ bin/pip install --quiet --upgrade setuptools wheel pip build
$ bin/pip install --requirement requirements.txt
$ bin/python make-links.pyAs of 2021-10-10, flake8 3.9.2 is not compatible with Python 3.10. It seems to work, but then spits out a stack trace and exits unsuccessfully. There's a merge to the code, but not yet a released.
As of 2023-10-31, flake8 seems to work with Python 3.11 now.
